FIVE YEARS AND PROUD OF IT!

by Carl L. Rosner
(Margate City, NJ, USA)

My five year pride and joy

My five year pride and joy

A friend stopped by on May 12, 2005 and brought me a cutting of the Portulacaria afra (see inset). I planted it the next day allowing the cutting to dry out before planting it.

It is fun to watch the growth by checking it weekly. This specie does grow quickly and I have made many cuttings which I have given away. I, also have a small semi-cascade, which I might add to another page.

The tree now stands above the soil line at 11" tall and is about 14" wide and deep. It is planted in a light blue pot a gift from a visiting Bonsai friend from Australia. The pot measures 9" x 10.5" x 2"
